SYLLABUS
1. Anatomy
- This unit will introduce learners to the basics of human anatomy and about the different systems that make up a human body.
2. Common Diseases
- Learners will watch videos and read articles about common diseases, including the symptoms and treatments associated with each one.
3. Pharmacology
- Learners will listen to real conversations and read about different kinds of medications, why they are prescribed, and how they are taken.
4. Hospitals & Nursing
- In this unit you will learn about nursing and other jobs associated with working in a hospital and some of the procedures done in them.
5. Genetics
- Learners will watch videos and read articles about the basics of genetics and chromosomes, the building blocks of life and who we are.
6. Pathology & Cancer
- Learners will study the science of pathology and how different cancers are diagnosed, studied, and treated.
7. Gynecology
- Learners will become familiar with gynecology and obstetrics and will watch and listen to videos on pregnancy, detecting birth defects, and prenatal testing.
8. Pediatrics
- Learners are introduced to pediatrics, the branch of medicine that deals with children. They will hear from doctors who work with children and learn about contemporary pediatric issues.
9. Surgeries & Procedures
- Learners will review the most common surgeries and procedures in the medical world.
10. Optometry
- Learners will observe how optometrists give eye exams, diagnose vision disorders and treat them.
11. Review: Medical News (UPDATED DAILY!)
- Review the English for Healthcare course with current news stories from each unit.
